The Kansas City Design Center and AIA Kansas City invite you to join us for an invigorating roundtable discussion exploring the impact of local and national media on public understanding and engagement in defining the future of the urban public realm.

The roundtable is the concluding event in our 2003 lecture series, architecture + cityscape: urban ambitions and city design. The event begins with a reception at 4:30pm, followed by the lecture presentation at 5:30pm.

John Czarnecki

MODERATOR: John Czarnecki, Assoc. AIA, is an acquisitions editor of architecture and design books for the publisher John Wiley & Sons. He was an associate editor with Architectural Record magazine for three years, and an urban designer with firms in Toronto, Milwaukee and Madison, Wisconsin.

Robert Campbell

PANELIST: Robert Campbell, FAIA, is a writer, teacher, and architect and Pulitzer Prize-winning architecture critic for the Boston Globe. He is contributing editor of Architectural Record and Preservation magazines, and author of Cityscapes of Boston.

Blair Kamin

PANELIST: Blair Kamin is architecture critic for the Chicago Tribune. He is a recipient of the Pulitzer Prize and George Polk Award, both for criticism, and the Institute Honor for Collaborative Achievement from the American Institute of Architects.

Sheri Olson

PANELIST: Sheri Olson, AIA, the Seattle-based contributing editor of Architectural Record, writes architecture criticism as a columnist for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. She is a co-author of Miller/Hull: Architects of the Pacific Northwest, and the forthcoming Cutler Anderson Architects, which will be published in 2004.
