The Kansas City Design Center is pleased to announce the next lecture in our annual series, Sustaining a Sense of Region. On Tuesday evening, May 7, the KCDC will host a presentation by journalist, researcher, and urban planner William Fulton, president of Ventura, California-based Solimar Research Group Inc.

Bill Fulton is economic development columnist for Governing magazine, founding editor of California Planning & Development Report, a monthly electronic and print land use newsletter, and writes frequently for the Sunday Opinion Section of the L.A. Times. His most recent book, co-authored with New Urbanist Peter Calthorpe, is entitled The Regional City: Planning for the End of Sprawl (Island Press, 2001). He holds an M.A. in Journalism/Public Affairs from American University in Washington, D.C., and an M.A. in Urban Planning from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Please join us at the American Heartland Theatre, 2450 Grand Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri. A welcome reception will be held at 5:00 p.m., and our lecture will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. Mr. Fulton's presentation will be followed by responses from a moderated panel of local experts. We invite the community to engage in this critical examination of future growth in the Kansas City region.

This event is free and open to the public.
Three hours free parking is available in the Crown Center Shops parking garage. Enter on Grand Avenue, one block south of Pershing Road.
