MainCor Master Plan

Fifth-year undergraduate and third-year graduate architecture students from the University of Kansas developed a master plan for Midtown Kansas City's MainCor District, the area between Linwood Avenue on the North and Westport Road on the South.

As one of Kansas City's most active commercial arteries, the area poses a number of design challenges, including parking, housing, and nuisance issues arising from the close intermingling of entertainment and residential uses.

Professor Nils Gore supervised students as they prepared a neighborhood master plan and housing development prototypes in collaboration with the MainCor community development corporation and the city's FOCUS planning team.
