KCDC and Review: Architecture Annual

The KCDC is pleased to announce the release of the 2004-05 Review Architecture and Planning Annual.

The 2006 Call for Submissions has been issued.

The issue, entitled Critical Mass?, features articles about Kansas City architecture and urbanism, discussions of the development process, critiques of major projects for the public realm, dialogues about academic studios and proposals, and a compelling photo essay of downtown architecture by photographer Mike Sinclair.

Copies of the special issue will be provided free of charge to members of the Kansas City Design Center.

Single or multiple copies also are available for purchase from the KCDC (cover price: $8.00). To order a copy using your MasterCard or VISA, contact us by telephone (816.421.1539 x110); a $1.50 shipping and handling charge will apply.

Copies also may be purchased at Rainy Day Books in Fairway, Kansas, or at area Borders Bookstores. Proceeds from KCDC sales will help underwrite our future support of the annual issue.

About Review magazine

Established in 1998 to serve the visual art community, Review is also intended to bring the activities and accomplishments of the Kansas City art community to the attention of a wider public. Review provides critical exposure for a broad range of emerging and established artists and art venues throughout the region, thus sustaining and fueling the growth of the local and regional art communities. Review provides opportunities for art historians, curators, artists, and writers to publish critical reviews, editorials, features, and virtual exhibitions, thus raising the level of art and cultural discourse in the area and nurturing a younger generation of arts professionals and advocates. Review also is committed to urban revitalization and produces an annual issue dedicated to architecture, planning, and issues affecting the built environment.
