Spring 2026 | The Paseo

The Greenline reimagines The Paseo as a shared neighborhood space shaped by the people who live along it rather than solely a roadway. Building upon The Paseo’s historic role as one of Kansas City’s most significant boulevards, the Greenline transforms the corridor into a vibrant public realm that prioritizes connectivity and community identity. By weaving together new housing, safer streets, and cultural connections to places like the 18th and Vine Historic District, the vision aims to build a corridor that feels more connected, inclusive, and alive in everyday use.

Riders traveling along the Paseo would enter from the north via a multimodal bridge connection at Lydia Street, providing a safe and accessible gateway into the corridor. From there, the route passes through Cliff Drive, where users experience one of Kansas City’s most scenic landscapes. Continuing south, riders travel past Kansas City University and through a series of neighborhoods connected by enhanced bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure until they reach the 18th and Vine district, which would serve as a key node along the Greenline and provide a seamless connection to the southern portion of the corridor.
